Director of Tennis
Larry Wolf
Larry is in his 14th year at the Longwood Cricket Club. Prior to coming to the club in 2003, he was the Director of Tennis at Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, NC and the New Canaan Racquet Club in New Canaan, CT. Larry has worked with players of all ages and abilities and has served as the tournament director for over twenty-five national tournaments and numerous charity tournaments. He was twice recognized for his contributions to tennis by his receipt of the Special Achievement of the Year Award from the North Carolina Association of Tennis Professionals. Larry attended Auburn University and hates to date himself but has three children, all married, and three grandchildren, who look forward to playing in the Longwood junior program in a couple of years!
Linda Wolf
Linda Wolf is in her 14th year as the manager of the pro shop at Longwood. In her capacity, Linda handles the retail operations of the shop and is responsible for the selection of merchandise that members can take advantage of. She also handles the administration of the pro shop including program questions, lesson sign-ups and pro shop staff, Linda is the go-to person for club members. Of the schedules she keeps for the pros on a daily basis she says “they are a great group of people, they just need a bit of mothering to keep them straight and organized, and I’ve had plenty of practice over the years!”
Director of Junior Tennis
Tim Smith
Tim Smith Tim competed and coached on the ITF professional circuit before com ing to Longwood. He is the recipient of the USTA William Freedman award for his outstandin g contributions to junior tennis in N.E. and holds certifications with the USPTA, USPTR and is recognized by the USTA as a high performance Coach. He has guided score s of sectional and nationally ranked junior players.
Magnus Nicklasson
An ardent fan of the game and collects tennis memorabilia with an e mphasis of Longwood, wood rackets and ball cans. In his more than 10 years at Lo ngwood Magnus works with all ages and levels of players. Spend some time on the cou rt with him to improve any stroke or learn any new strokes. Some members claim they learned the “ tweener ” from Magnus in only 20 minutes. Other members refer to Magnus as Doctor Volley. Make an appointment with the doc to fix that volley once an d for all. Magnus works with many of the special events at Longwood throughout the season, such as Member-Guest, Monday Night Team Tennis, and Wilander On Whee ls. He earned coaching certifications by USTA, Sanchez-Casal, USPTA, and Sw eden ’ s Tennis Federation. He attends coaching seminars on a regular basis. Previou s teaching engagements include TSV Malsch, Germany, and Natick Racquet Club, MA. Magnus is married to Anne and has an 11 year old daughter Sarah.

Paul Noonan
Paul is working on his 31st season at Longwood. Paul monitors the courts, arranges games for those in need and in general acts as the eyes, ears, and even nose of the Tennis Committee! A Chestnut Hill resident, during Longwood’s off season, Paul is the manager of the Longwood Covered Courts.

Phil Belanger
Phil Belanger has an extensive hospitality background with Marriott Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn Worldwide and Starwood Hotels and Resorts. Phil was also at Arnold Palmer Golf at Bay Hill in Orlando, FL. Recently, a consultant with Wheelright Consultants and Matchpoint Tennis. Phil has Management and Accounting degrees from Bentley. Phil is involved in fundraising for the American Cancer Society and Sportsmens Tennis Enrichment Center.

Carrie Tucker
Carrie started playing tennis when she was four years old. She was the captain of Brookline High School tennis team last year and played first doubles on their varsity team all four years. She just finished her first year at Elon University in North Carolina and is a business major. It is her third year teaching at Longwood where she enjoys working with middle and lower camps and will be working in the pro shop.
