From June through August, Longwood comes alive on Wednesday nights! Members and their guests are welcome to join us for just an evening of tennis, just for dinner, or as we recommend - for both! No sign-up is required for tennis. For dinner we ask that you make a reservation and entree choice no later than 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Please see below for more information.


Members and their guests wishing to participate in our tennis round robin should gather in front of the Pro Shop no later than 6 p.m. Balls, scorecards, and court assignments are given out at 6 p.m. After a brief warm-up, doubles is played in 20 minute increments. At the sound of the bell (every 20 minutes) the winning team moves clockwise to the next court and splits up. The losing team stays on the court and also splits up.


Members who would like to attend the Wednesday evening dinner should make reservations including entrée choices no later than 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Entrée selections are made on a first come, first serve basis. Any reservations made after 2 p.m. on Tuesday are subject to seating and entrée availability, but we will try our best to accommodate everyone.
If you have any dietary restrictions, please contact Longwood’s chef, Tony Bush, in advance so that he may make arrangements for special orders.
The deadline to cancel your dinner reservation(s) is also Tuesday at 2 p.m. Every attempt will be made to fill your place(s) at dinner, but if we are unable to do so then members are subject to the full cost of dinner. Reservations cancelled prior to the deadline are subject to a $10 charge.
Dinner will be served rain or shine!

Seating Policy

The staff will have all of the tables and chairs needed for dinner set on the porch by 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday evenings. Placecards for those with reservations will also be available at that time. Reserving seats with placecards is done a first come, first serve basis. For members bringing several guests who would like to reserve an entire table, arrangements can be made with front desk by Tuesday at 2 p.m. Large groups may be seated on the terrace or indoors; please alert the front desk if either of these options appeal to you (617-731-2900).


Once seated, wait staff will come by to confirm and place your order.
Please note, entrée selections must be made at the time of reservation, or before 2 p.m. on Tuesday, and are done on a first come, first serve basis.

Dinner also includes a salad bar, rolls, coffee, and dessert.
